Take the Chevy and Check Out the 4 Best Views Near Flint, MI

The city of Flint is a truly unique and diverse place with tons of great restaurants to enjoy and interesting landmarks to visit. But while you're there, you should take your Chevy and cruise to some of the nearby locations that offer stunning views. We know these locations can be hard to find without insider information, so here are some of our favorite spots with the best views near Flint, MI. University of Michigan-Flint Library The University of Michigan in Flint has a beautiful campus located right in the center of downtown among the skyscrapers. The sprawling campus has some great viewing locations, but the best view comes from the benches outside the library. These benches are less than fifty yards from the Flint River, and if you can find an open seat, you'll get an amazing view of the river with the skyline in the background, especially at sunset. more Atwood Stadium When the city of Flint puts on its annual 4th of July fireworks show, thousands flock to Atwood Stadium to watch the fantastic display. However, it's not the stadium's large capacity that draws visitors but rather the stunning view it provides. Atwood is only half-enclosed, so it feels more like an amphitheater than a stadium. And don't worry if the stadium is closed, because there are places nearby to park your Chevy and soak in the same incredible view. Genesee County Courthouse Spending time at a courthouse might not sound too appealing, but the view from the Genesee County Courthouse in Flint is awe-inspiring. The courthouse sits at a high point on the edge of the downtown area, and if you're seated at one of the many picnic tables outside, you can see straight down the main street to the other side of the city. It's a view that's hard to describe and nearly impossible to forget. Mt. Brighton Despite its name, Mt. Brighton is not actually a mountain; however, it is a relatively high peak by Michigan standards, and the view from atop is jaw-dropping. Located roughly 30 miles south of Flint, Mt. Brighton functions as a ski resort during the winter and a top-tier golf course in the summer. You'll want to take the whole family to enjoy this incredible view, but with your spacious Chevy Equinox, you'll have plenty of room! These are just a handful of our favorite spots with great views near Flint, and if you spend a little extra time cruising in your Chevy, you're sure to find other locations. But before you head out to the next spot, you should come to see us at Randy Wise Chevrolet and check out our incredible selection of vehicles.

3 Engine Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Chevy Dealer

Engine problems can be scary for any driver. Fortunately, if you're near Flint, MI, your friendly Chevy dealer can help you. Our Chevrolet-trained technicians are experts at repairing any possible problem. These are samples of some of the problems that can occur, and we can fix any of them for you. more Damaged Oxygen Sensors Your car has numerous sensors, and each sensor is attached to an important component. These sensors provide information for your car's computer and monitor their attached component for signs of trouble. The sensors can detect even the smallest inconsistency with their attached component, and relay this to the computer. Sensors can, unfortunately, fail. The oxygen sensors in your exhaust, for example, can wear out. These sensors monitor the amount of air in the engine and the exhaust smoke. The sensor's information is used by your car's computer to determine the fuel-air mix in the engine. If these sensors relay wrong information, the fuel-air mix will be incorrect, and your car will use more fuel. We can check and replace any damaged sensors. Worn Spark Plugs The spark plugs' job is to ignite the fuel-air mix in the cylinders. Air and fuel will mix in the intake manifold. When the sensors in the manifold detect that the mix is correct, this mix will be injected into the cylinders. The fuel-air mix is highly compressed and finally ignited by the spark plugs. This ignition creates a controlled explosion in the cylinder, and the explosions in the cylinders enable your car to move. In time, spark plugs can burn out, or be damaged by the failure of other components. If your spark plugs aren't working correctly, you'll experience misfiring and even stalling. Our technicians will check and test each spark plug, and replace any damaged ones. Once the spark plugs are working again, your engine performance will increase. Dirty Air Filter The air filter in your car filters out dust and dirt from the air to prevent this debris from entering your engine. The air filter box is located just behind the radiator grille, and it screens air before it enters the engine. The filter, however, will eventually fill up with dirt and prevent air from entering your engine. As we saw above, clean air is vital for effective combustion. If your engine lacks air due to a blocked air filter, there will be too much fuel in the intake manifold. The abundance of fuel makes combustion more difficult, as your spark plugs need air to ignite. The fuel-rich atmosphere in your engine can also damage the spark plugs and make combustion even less efficient. If you experience any problem with your engine, call us immediately at Randy Wise Chevrolet. Image via Pixabay

3 Signs Your Chevy Needs a New Car Air Filter

Your engine needs vast amounts of air for combustion, and this air needs to be clean. Dirt, dust, and other debris are collected in the car air filter. As the filter collects this debris, it will start to get blocked. When this happens, it's time to see your Chevy dealer for a replacement filter. We'd like to show you some of the signs that your filter needs to be changed. more 3 Signs That You Need a New Car Air Filter From Your Chevy Dealer The Filter Is Dirty The filter is one of the easiest components to check in your car. Its housed in the air filter box, and the location of this box is shown in your car manual. If you want to check your filter, find its location in the manual, then pop the hood. The air filter box is easy to open, and once it's open you'll see the condition of your filter. A good filter is white or cream, but if your filter is brown, gray, or black it's blocked. Sometimes, however, the filter may be blocked, but it's not easy to see. The numerous folds in the filter's surface can hide the dirt. If you're not sure about the condition of your filter, come into our service center. One of our technicians will check your filter and replace it if it's damaged. Engine Misfiring Engine misfires can be caused by a blocked air filter. Your engine needs far more air than fuel for combustion. Air and fuel mix in the intake manifold and is then injected into the cylinders. In the cylinders, this mix is compressed and then ignited by the spark plugs. If your air filter is blocked, however, compression will be weaker, and ignition will be more difficult. If there isn't enough air in the cylinders, the cylinders become fuel rich. Your spark plugs can't ignite correctly in a fuel-rich environment, and the reduced compression adds to the problem. If ignition doesn't take place correctly, you'll hear the bangs and pops from misfiring. Black Exhaust Smoke Exhaust smoke is normally thin and white. If your exhaust is producing cloudy black smoke, this means there's too much unburnt fuel in the exhaust. The main reason for unburnt fuel is a blocked air filter. As we've seen, a lack of air creates a fuel-rich environment in your engine. Much of this fuel won't burn due to lack of air. The unburnt fuel is pushed into your exhaust system and will exit your car as black smoke. Once the air filter is replaced, the exhaust smoke will return to normal. When you need a new air filter, call us today at Randy Wise Chevrolet. Image via Car and Driver
