What's Included in a Standard Chevy Car Warranty?

As with any investment you make, especially one as important as a vehicle, you want that investment to stay safe with a warranty that you can depend on. Your local Chevy dealer can provide you with this kind of peace of mind with the great car warranty that Chevrolet provides. Protection From Corrosion and Rust-Through Vehicles can corrode from saltwater that gets sprayed on roads from an ocean or marsh or from driving on salted roads. This is why Chevy offers a corrosion warranty of three years or 36,000 miles. As an added benefit, the vehicle is covered against rust through for six years or 100,000 miles. more Warranty for the Powertrain All components of the powertrain are covered by the powertrain warranty, including the drivetrain, transmission, and engine. The warranty coverage generally lasts for five years or 60,000 miles. You can feel Chevy's confidence in its cars and trucks when you see this generous warranty. Find out if your dealer offers an extended powertrain warranty on all these parts, and if you're eligible, as the extended 100,000-mile powertrain warranty is well worth having. By having your maintenance and any repair services completed at the dealer, you can be sure that your warranty remains intact and the dealership is willing to give you an extended warranty. Maintenance and Roadside Assistance With every new Chevy, you get roadside assistance. Chevy's five-year or 100,000-mile roadside assistance program is available to both regular and fleet buyers. Within a year of purchase, your first maintenance visit is also free. You can use this free service to ensure that your Chevy is performing exactly the way it should early, ensuring smooth service for years. Warranty on Non-Powertrain Components A car or truck is so much more than just its engine, and all other components, such as the frame, the air conditioning, and other components not related to the vehicle's powertrain, are covered by the bumper-to-bumper Chevy guarantee. The Chevrolet warranty covers cars and trucks for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Your warranty can only be voided in two circumstances. When you install generic parts, which often do not meet the same standards as genuine parts, you put your warranty at risk. Poor-quality parts can occasionally damage other parts, and this voids the warranty if it happens. Additionally, if the vehicle is worked on by a third-party mechanic, your warranty coverage may be impacted. In the event that a third-party mechanic harms your vehicle, your warranty could also be voided. These are both great reasons to get your service at your dealership, where only Chevy-certified techs and genuine parts are used. With the great warranty offered by Chevy, there's every reason to check on the newest cars and trucks today. You can feel comfortable that your purchase is covered and your investment is safe. 7 Car Safety Features Available on Today's Chevy Vehicles

The team at your local Chevy dealer is committed to making the road a safer place. We show that commitment by including advanced car safety features like the ones below in the vehicles that we offer, helping to make you feel more secure on your travels. 1. Following Distance Indicator One common cause of issues on the road is drivers following too closely behind other vehicles. The following distance indicator included in modern Chevy vehicles helps to avoid that common danger. By giving you the gap time between you and the driver ahead of you, this system helps you avoid tailgating. more 2. Adaptive Cruise Control The following distance indicator isn't the only feature included in your Chevy to help you manage the distance between yourself and other vehicles. Activate the adaptive cruise control feature and your vehicle will automatically adjust your cruise control speed to move with the flow of traffic, ensuring you always have time to react if another driver stops short or decelerates suddenly. 3. High-Definition Surround Vision Having complete awareness of your surroundings is a priceless asset when operating your vehicle. With the high-definition surround vision system included in your next Chevy, multiple camera angles are used to project an overhead image of your vehicle. That helps you navigate tight spots with ease, whether you're driving forward or in reverse. 4. Rear Cross Traffic Alert Your Chevy includes other features to help you with backing out of a parking space or driveway as well. The rear cross-traffic alert system monitors the area you're reversing into for traffic coming from either direction. If another vehicle is approaching, you'll receive a warning to let you know to wait before backing out into the road. 5. Intellibeam Auto High Beam Assist No aspect of your Chevy was overlooked when designing the vehicle for maximum safety, and that includes small details like your headlights. Intellibeam auto high beam assist detects traffic conditions around you to know when to switch on or off your high beams. That prevents you from blinding oncoming traffic, making the road safer for both you and other drivers. 6. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning Staying centered in your lane keeps you out of other drivers' space and off the shoulder where debris and other obstacles might lie. The lane keep assist system issues a warning via a gentle steering wheel turn when it detects you're drifting out of your intended lane, helping to keep you out of harm's way. 7. Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking Your Chevy keeps an eye out for potential danger on the road, alerting you of a potential front-end collision with audio and visual alerts. If the cameras and sensors in your vehicle detect that a collision is imminent, the vehicle engages emergency brakes or enhances your own braking to help reduce the severity of any impact that may occur. When you get these safety features in your next vehicle, you'll take confidence and peace of mind out on the road with you. 3 Signs Your Chevy Needs a Radiator Repair

Your car's radiator plays a vital part in preventing your engine from overheating. When your engine temperature rises, coolant is released. The coolant circulates through your engine and traps the heat. The now-hot coolant is pumped into the radiator, where it's cooled by airflow through the radiator grille. Radiators are made from aluminum and plastic, and they can suffer damage. As your Chevy dealer, we're here to help when you need a radiator repair. more Damaged Thermostat The thermostat regulates the supply of coolant in your engine. If your engine temperature is below 180F, the thermostat stays closed. When the temperature hits 180F, the valve opens and releases coolant from the coolant reservoir. This liquid traps the heat from the engine and transports it to the radiator for cooling. Once the temperature drops below 180F, the valve will close, and the coolant flow will stop. If the thermostat breaks, it will jam open or closed. If it jams closed, it won't supply any coolant regardless of the engine temperature. The lack of coolant will cause your engine temperature to rise rapidly. If the valve jams in an open position, coolant will continuously flow through your engine. Your engine temperature will drop below its normal operating temperature. A cold engine will use far more fuel. Our technicians can quickly and easily replace the broken thermostat. Worn Radiator Hoses Two tough rubber hoses connect your radiator to the rest of the cooling system. These hoses allow hot coolant into the radiator, and the cooled coolant to return to its reservoir. The hoses are designed to transport hot coolant under high pressure and to do this in the heat of the engine. Over time, the rubber will start to dry out and become less flexible. A worn hose can develop holes due to the heat and abrasive effects of the coolant. If a hose springs a leak, coolant will be lost, and this also reduces the pressure in the cooling system. The loss of coolant and coolant pressure will raise your engine temperature. We will examine the hoses and the clamps that attach them to the radiator and replace any damaged parts. Broken Radiator Cap The radiator cap controls the pressure in the cooling system, and it prevents pressurized coolant from leaking out. The cap has seals that ensure a close and perfect fit between the cap and the radiator. Damage and fatigue can damage the seals, and hot coolant will escape. Unlike a coolant leak from a hose, it's less likely that you'll see a pool of fluid on the ground. The coolant that leaks out normally dries in the heat of the engine. Coolant is made from antifreeze and water, and when it dries, the water can lead to rust forming. This rust can do additional damage to the radiator. If your seems to be running hotter than it should, call our service department ASAP at Randy Wise Chevrolet. Image vis Pexels.

Mechanic checking the transmission under the under.

4 Signs It May Be Time for a Transmission Repair

When you shift from park to drive, and as your Chevy drives sedately your transmission is probably one of the last things on your mind. Your transmission allows your car to move, by transferring the power of your engine to the wheels. Without a transmission, your car simply won't move. Since the transmission is important and, unfortunately, even the best components can break, if you need a transmission repair in Flint, MI your Chevy dealer is the place to go. more Shaking or Grinding Although automatic and manual vehicles both have transmissions, they can react differently. A grinding sound from your manual transmission when you shift gears can be the sign of a worn clutch or one of the gear synchronizers may be worn or damaged. An automatic transmission can give you a jarring, shaking feeling when you shift into another gear. Regardless of the type of transmission, shifting gears should always be easy and smooth. Slipping Gears When you shift gears on a manual, or your computer on an automatic shifts gears, your car should remain in that gear until you or the computer change it. A slipping gear occurs when the transmission randomly changes gears with no warning. This can be extremely dangerous, as it means that you don't have full control over your car's power or speed. If this occurs, call our service center and our technicians will find and repair the problem. Burning Smell from the Transmission A burning smell from your transmission can be caused by either a transmission fluid leak or an old fluid in the transmission. Burning transmission fluid is distinctive, as a smell similar to burning rubber. If you have a transmission leak, fluid could be dripping onto hot metal parts of your engine and this gives off an awful smell. If you don't have a fluid leak, the other possibility is that the transmission fluid is old. Transmission fluid lubricates all the parts of the transmission, but as it flows through the system it also accumulates tiny metallic pieces and sludge. This detritus is absorbed by the fluid, which reduces the fluid's effectiveness and reduces its heat-resistant properties. Old, polluted transmission fluid can heat up and start to burn in the transmission and produce a nasty smell. Gears Won't Shift It's an awful situation if your gears just refuse to shift. One minute the gears shift just fine, and the next they won't move at all and your car is completely stuck, there are several possible reasons for this, including a malfunctioning solenoid, a faulty computer in an automatic transmission, or a faulty clutch in a manual transmission. The good news is that this frightening situation is very unlikely to happen if your car is regularly serviced If your transmission has a problem, call us ASAP at Randy Wise Chevrolet. We'll fix the problem, and your Chevy will be as good as new in no time. Image via Pexel.

4 Reasons to Get Your Brake Repair at Your Flint Chevy Dealer

Repairs and maintenance are part of owning a car. However, sometimes it's hard to know when maintenance needs to be done with so many moving mechanical parts. For example, a brake repair is essential, as is knowing when to replace your brakes or rotors. Your local Chevy dealer has certified professionals on hand to help answer all of your questions. 1. Age and Wear Over time your brake pads and rotors wear down. The average vehicle will need to have brake pads replaced anywhere between 25,000 and 65,000 miles. Your rotors will also need to be replaced somewhere between 30,000 and 70,000 miles. This is one of the most common repairs people need for their brakes. more 2. Multiple Parts Many of us have heard of brake pads and rotors; however, not many people realize how many parts are included in your brake systems. Some common brake issues include dirty brake lines or fluid leading to a complete brake line replacement, bleeding brake lines, or cracks and breaks in any brake parts. In addition, many parts can have issues, including the wheel bearings, the wheel cylinders, the breaking plates, and more. Master cylinders are not as commonly replaced. This system regulates the pressure of your fluids. However, issues can occur with the multitude of plastic and metal parts that encompass your brake system. When dirt and other particles enter the system, they can cause harm to the pins and pistons; often, this means that it is better to replace the system rather than trying to sift through for individual parts. 3. Braking Issues The braking pads are an essential part of your braking system. Changing the pads as you rack up miles is important; however, it is also important to note that you may need to change them earlier if you experience any issues. These issues could be squeaking or squealing, grinding when braking, vibrations when braking, or if you notice that it's taking you longer to stop than usual. If you notice any of these issues, experience any others, or see your brake lights on, then it's time to get your vehicle into a reputable mechanic. Having your car checked out at the first sign of an issue can save your wallet from extensive repairs and your vehicle from greater harm later on. Brakes are essential to you and your passengers' safety in your car. 4. Chevy Service Randy Wise Chevrolet offers competitive prices on many vehicle services, including oil changes, brakes, and tires. The service department is staffed with expert factory-trained technicians and uses state-of-the-art technology and equipment to serve you better. These certified technicians can take care of both major and minor repairs. Your vehicle is a vital part of your daily life and needs to be functioning at its best.
