The city of Flint is a truly unique and diverse place with tons of great restaurants to enjoy and interesting landmarks to visit. University of Michigan-Flint Library
The University of Michigan in Flint has a beautiful campus located right in the center of downtown among the skyscrapers. The sprawling campus has some great viewing locations, but the best view comes from the benches outside the library. These benches are less than fifty yards from the Flint River, and if you can find an open seat, you’ll get an amazing view of the river with the skyline in the background, especially at sunset.
Atwood Stadium
When the city of Flint puts on its annual 4th of July fireworks show, thousands flock to Atwood Stadium to watch the fantastic display. However, it’s not the stadium’s large capacity that draws visitors but rather the stunning view it provides. Atwood is only half-enclosed, so it feels more like an amphitheater than a stadium. And don’t worry if the stadium is closed, because there are places nearby to park your Chevy and soak in the same incredible view.
Genesee County Courthouse
Spending time at a courthouse might not sound too appealing, but the view from the Genesee County Courthouse in Flint is awe-inspiring. The courthouse sits at a high point on the edge of the downtown area, and if you’re seated at one of the many picnic tables outside, you can see straight down the main street to the other side of the city. It’s a view that’s hard to describe and nearly impossible to forget.
Mt. Brighton
Despite its name, Mt. Brighton is not actually a mountain; however, it is a relatively high peak by Michigan standards, and the view from atop is jaw-dropping. Located roughly 30 miles south of Flint, Mt. Brighton functions as a ski resort during the winter and a top-tier golf course in the summer. You’ll want to take the whole family to enjoy this incredible view, but with your spacious Chevy Equinox, you’ll have plenty of room!
