There are other interesting features to discover, such as rickety wooden bridges and a treehouse to climb on. It’s a superb natural space for children to explore.

Davison Area Dog Park

For dog walkers, there are few better places in town to take your furry friend than Davison Area Dog Park. This park has segmented areas for small and large dogs, with another area for one-on-one dog training. There’s agility equipment and a water pump for your dog to frolic around on, and plenty of pleasant routes for walking. It’s also popular enough that you’ll usually find other companions for your pup to play with.

Stepping Stone Falls

For picnicking, fishing, and dramatic waterfalls, head to this lovely park in the northeast of town. A very scenic path takes you through the park and over a footbridge to reach the falls themselves. The fishing is good, with many bluegill and bass to be caught. There are picnic tables spread throughout the grounds, some with stunning views to enjoy. Stepping Stone Falls is a favorite with the locals for good reason.

Mott Park

On the west side of town lies this very pleasant park, which provides a safe, community atmosphere and several great amenities. There’s an 18-hole disc golf course, a dry hockey rink, tennis courts, a playground, and an amphitheater for performances and events. There are also many fine pathways with beautiful grassland and riverside scenery to take in as you stroll.

Holly Recreation Area

For a true escape into the great outdoors, head south of town to this fantastic 8,000-acre state park. The glistening lakes offer swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating, with breathtaking views of the forested banks. Through the woods, you can go hiking, biking, and even hunting. There are a few well-kept campgrounds for those who wish to stay a while longer in the peaceful serenity of this park’s enchanting wilderness.

Jack N. Abernathy Regional Park

If you’re interested in ball games, this park provides some of the town’s best recreational facilities. There are high-quality courts for basketball, sand volleyball, and tennis. There’s a skating area and large fields for football and other games. It’s also a great place for family outings without the sports. The creative wooden playscape in particular is a huge hit with the younger kids.
