Flint has plenty of breathtaking spring sights, from Applewood Estate’s spectacular blooming gardens and historic orchards at 1400 E. Kearsley Street to the magnificent sunsets over scenic Thread Lake between Howard and Crocker Avenues.

Enjoy a picnic and a few peaceful hours at the picturesque Stepping Stone Falls and Picnic Area at 5161 Branch Road and watch the water cascade over the many intricate artificial steps and levels into Mott Lake below.

2. Buy Arts and Crafts at the Annual Spring Craft Market

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the Annual Spring Craft Market, an extremely popular spring event at the Flint Farmers’ Market at 300 East 1st Street. On Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m., more than twenty local artisans will gather again to display an array of beautiful and unique handcrafted items.

Take your family to browse the stalls for handcrafted vintage-inspired jewelry, stunning garments, beautiful knits, natural handmade bath and body products, and hand-poured candles.

3. Enjoy the Sounds of a Brass Band at the Annual Spring Concert

The Annual Spring Concert at the Flint Citadel Church at 211 West Kearsley Street has been a Flint spring tradition for many years. This year the free concert, hosted by the Flint Citadel Band, a renowned brass band of The Salvation Army and the Flint Citadel Songsters, will be on Sunday, May 21, at 3 p.m.

Bandmaster Glenn Welsch, a well-known composer and musician, will be the special guest. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the music and the refreshments after the concert.

4. Spend Time on a Scenic Beach

Spend a warm spring afternoon on Bluebell Beach along the shores of Mott Lake at 5500 Bray Road. Stroll down the sandy beach and admire the beautiful view over the water and the tree-lined shores.
