It’s Saturday, and you don’t have any plans for the night. What are you going to do? You could go to do one of the things that you’ve done time and time again, like see a movie at the cinema or just head to a restaurant for a slice of pizza, but if you’re looking for something new and exciting, try going to the theater! There are many theaters in Flint, MI, but here are some of our favorites!

1. Flint Community Players

Flint Community Players has been a staple of Flint culture and live performances since its founding in 1928! And over the years they have put on some truly breathtaking plays and musicals. Each season, they put on plays from a wide range of theater genres, including mystery, romance, drama, and comedy, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Just make sure to buy tickets online before they sell out!

One thing we love about Flint Community Players is that they provide scholarships to local arts students. So by going and supporting their shows, you’re helping to make sure that the next generation of fabulous performers has the chance to grow!

2. Flint Repertory Theatre

Located in the heart of downtown Flint, Flint Repertory Theatre is a non-profit theater that is committed to making an impact in the community. They strive to introduce the citizens of Flint and visitors alike to the world of fine art and live performances, and we think they are doing an amazing job.

You’ll need to take a look at their website to see what they’re currently performing, but whatever it is, we can assure you that it’s world-class. This 2022 season they’re putting on shows like Death of a Salesman, Ragtime, and The Magnificent Seven. Don’t miss out on any of them.

3. The New McCree Theatre

The New McCree Theatre is unique for a variety of reasons, but the reason that most stands out is its mission. The McCree doesn’t seek to organize productions of only the most famous or the most critically acclaimed theater works: they want to use the medium of live theater to tell stories from the African American voice.

The plays and musicals at The New McCree Theatre, such as Those Gorgeous, Glamorous Girl Groups and Graffiti Chronicles are extremely important to depicting the rich history of African American achievement, and they’re a must-see!

After the play or musical ends late at night, you want to go home in a vehicle with modern safety features that will keep you safe on dark roads, so drive a car like the 2022 Chevy Traverse! Check one out at Randy Wise Chevrolet today!
