Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Suburban comes with a prominent, rectangular grille with the Chevy emblem in the middle. Six trim levels are available: High Country, Premier, Z71, RST, LT, and LS. The base LS has 18-inch wheels, active grille shutters, assist steps, automatic high beams, heated side mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a rear wiper.
With all the trims, you can add 20- or 22-inch wheels, roof rails, front and rear splash guards, and upper and lower active grille shutters. The LT and higher trims have a hands-free power liftgate with emblem projection and memory settings, and you can choose auto-dimming side mirrors and a panoramic power sunroof.
Engine (Power)
The EcoTec3 5.3-liter V-8 offers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. With all options except the Z71, you can choose a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. With the RST, Z71, and Premier, you can select a 6.2-liter V-8 that gives 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It's standard with the High Country. All of these engines have a 10-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul modes.
Performance
This SUV comes with an external engine oil cooler, an independent suspension, electronic stability control, trailer sway control, power steering, and traction control. An engine block heater is optional with all trim levels, and you can pull up to 8,100 pounds. The Z71 comes with four-wheel drive and a heavy-duty engine air filter. With the Z71 and the High Country, an adaptive air ride suspension with automatic load leveling is available.
Interior
The 2023 Chevy Suburban can carry up to nine people. It comes with a 4.2-inch driver information center, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Android Auto, voice recognition, keyless entry, and folding second- and third-row seats. Cruise and driver information center controls are on the steering wheel. You'll also get three-zone climate control and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The LT and higher trim levels have a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 12-inch driver information center, heated front seats, and wireless charging. With the LT, RST, and Z71, a nine-speaker Bose audio system is standard. Heated second-row seats and a heated steering wheel are optional, and they're standard with the Premier and High Country.
Safety Features
This SUV has a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, and pedestrian detection. Other standard safety features include lane departure warning, front and rear parking assistance, lane-keeping assistance, and hill start assistance. A highway safety kit is optional. You can add rear cross-traffic alert, and it comes with the Premier and High Country. With the LT and higher trims, a camera system that displays an overhead image of the area around the vehicle is available. It's standard with the High Country.
